The Greenwich Police Department (GPD) is mourning the untimely and heartbreaking loss of Officer Robert Pascale, whose passing was announced on Thursday. In an emotional statement, the department described Pascale as a “kind soul, a loyal teammate, and a true friend to everyone who knew him.” His death has left a deep void within the department and among the countless individuals who had the privilege of knowing him.
Although the department has not disclosed his age, they expressed the magnitude of the loss in a heartfelt Facebook post, emphasizing that Pascale was known for his steady presence, willingness to help others, and the genuine respect he showed to his colleagues and the Greenwich community. His demeanor and character embodied the very best of what it means to be a public servant.
Officer Pascale’s commitment to service extended far beyond his duties in uniform. The GPD highlighted his involvement in local charities and community activities, where he volunteered his time and energy to make a positive impact. In addition to his dedication to law enforcement and volunteerism, Pascale was an avid athlete, remaining active in sports such as football and lacrosse, where his enthusiasm and teamwork mirrored his approach to life and service.
Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, Pascale was deeply rooted in his community. He pursued higher education at Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and economics and obtained a Smeal College Business Fundamentals Certificate. His academic achievements reflected his drive to understand the complexities of both people and systems, ultimately guiding him toward a meaningful career in law enforcement.
Pascale joined the Greenwich Police Department in April 2022 and graduated from the New Britain Police Academy’s 19th training session, where his dedication and professionalism quickly distinguished him among his peers. Continuing a proud family legacy, Pascale’s great-uncle, John Cornelius, had also served as a member of the GPD, making his service especially significant to his family and the department.
From his very first day in uniform, Pascale demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and compassion. The department recalled that he earned multiple letters of recognition for his outstanding work, particularly for his exceptional report writing, commitment to teamwork, and unwavering willingness to assist others. His supervisors and fellow officers described him as someone who “represented the very best of our profession.”
The Greenwich Police Department stated that Pascale’s “kindness, dedication, and spirit will never be forgotten.” His legacy will continue to inspire both his colleagues and the community he served with such pride.
To honor his memory, calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 2, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday, November 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Saint Cecilia in Stamford.
